I’m a DIY pro… I turned £4 Asda sliders into £300 Gucci dupes using just one piece of fabric
A CRAFTY woman has revealed how she turned a pair of black Asda slippers into £300 Gucci dupes.
With the weather finally warming up, most of us are looking to ditch cozy winter boots for more summery footwear – and for some, the iconic Gucci floral slippers are a must.
However, sought-after as they are, the brand’s slippers cost £290 – not an affordable option for most, especially as Brits face a £1,000 drop in income.
Luckily, a savvy fashionista has revealed how she transformed a pair of £4 Asda slippers into these designer dupes using just a scrap of fabric and a dab of glue, The Mirror wrote.
In a clip, which has been viewed by over 34,000 people on TikTok, Leanne (@bellesbonniefabric) shared the simple steps.
According to the mother, who owns an online store called Belle’s Bonnie Boutique, she bought a pair of basic black sliders from Asda for less than a fiver and then grabbed a Gucci dupe cloth.
The floral fabric, which Leanne sells through her company for £2.50, was then attached to the band of the black sliders using Gorilla Glue.
“Just me turning £4 Asda sliders and £2.50 fabric into £300 sliders.
‘It was so easy anyone could make them,’ described the mother of the project which cost her a total of £6.50.
The cheap cost means that if she wanted to, Leanne could easily afford to make 44 pairs of her dupes and still have change to spare.
Fellow fashion lovers were blown away by the quality of the end result, with many saying they would place an order with the crafty mum for the fabric so they could try and recreate the look for themselves .
